From working chairside to managing the daily schedule, dental assistants are on top of their game. And beyond that, we regularly hear how much dental assistants love the work they do — few professionals are as dedicated and committed to their jobs.

We’ve talked about how organized dental assistants are, how many unique qualities they have, and what makes them so special. But sometimes we hear a few confessions! So, if any of these apply to you, know that you are not alone!

You are more organized at work than at home.

“I’m on top of everything at work, but my bedroom looks like a tornado went through it!”

You aren’t a great dental patient.

“I don’t look forward to going to the dentist — just because I’m around dentistry all day doesn’t mean I don’t get nervous about having dental work done on myself.”

You still get squeamish.

“I’ve gotten good at hiding it, but I still get grossed out all the time.”

You had to get past your fears.

“Believe it or not, I had terrible needle-phobia I had to overcome when I started out.”

You have bad days, but you don’t let it show.

“Even when I am having a tough day, I never let the patients know. I always treat them like I would want to be treated if I were sitting in the chair!”
