Dental assistants have many hidden talents, and Donna Kotyk, CDA, RDH, M.A., an artist, is no exception. In spring 2017, Donna earned recognition for her DANB-inspired artwork. Read on to learn more!

About the Artwork

During an Adobe Photoshop course that she was taking, Donna used a photo of Joanne Dawley, D.D.S., to create a work of art (pictured at right). Donna took the Photoshop course as part of an associate degree program in fine arts at Salish Kootenai College in Pablo, Montana.

“I added a street scene with rain in the background,” says Donna, of Polson, Montana, who graduated from the college in June 2017. “Everything worked: the colors, everything. I entered it into the spring 2017 art show at the college.”

The piece of artwork went on to earn Honorable Mention in the show, in the computer graphics category.
